Oxford is a basket weave: two yarns cross in a way that leaves a visible, slightly rough texture. That structure makes the fabric stronger than a smooth poplin of the same weight and gives it a matte, casual surface.

Where it fits

An Oxford shirt sits between casual and business. It works with chinos and jeans, and holds up under a jacket where a very fine poplin might look too formal. Heavier Oxford creases in the folds rather than all over, which is part of the look.

Fit and shrinkage

Cotton Oxford can shrink slightly on the first wash. Check the measurements on the product page and wash cold; avoid a hot dryer. If you are between sizes and want a relaxed fit, take the larger one.

Care

Machine wash cold, hang dry, iron while slightly damp. A light press on the collar and placket is enough — the texture is meant to show.
